Building for the Future

In 2018 EllisDon was selected to design, build, finance, and maintain the new West Park redevelopment project. Once complete, the 27-acre site will be transformed into an integrated campus of care, enabling the hospital to evolve its rehabilitative medicine to meet Ontario’s future health care needs.

The Community Benefits and Apprenticeship Plan will set the benchmark for future community benefits initiatives and major infrastructure projects to come.

Our Partners

The success of this program is largely dependent on our strong and collaborative relationships with similarly aligned organizations who share our values. To help fulfill its commitments, EllisDon partnered with several expert parties to form the Community Benefits Working Group. The group, co-chaired jointly by EllisDon and West Park Healthcare Centre is joined by the Toronto Community Benefits Network, United Way, Infrastructure Ontario and Hammer Heads.

Work with us

We are committed to delivering transformational infrastructure that leaves a positive impact on our communities, and it’s our people that make this happen.

The Community Benefits and Apprenticeship Plan promotes journey persons and apprenticeship training opportunities throughout the construction term. The opportunities created by WPHC will facilitate apprentices’ entrance to the workforce with experience and skills needed for future employment. The high workforce demands of such a large project in this neighbourhood will be supplemented by the encouragement of apprentice participation on WPHC.
