The New Hospital
Opening in 2023, West Park Healthcare Centre is building a new, six-storey, approximately 730,000 square foot hospital. Located in west Toronto, the new facility will accommodate 314 rehabilitation and complex care beds, expanded outpatient services and outreach programs for people managing health challenges such as lung disease, amputation, stroke and traumatic injuries. The project also involves demolition and extensive landscaping to provide patients, staff and the wider community with access to green space that is barrier free to all people regardless of ability, mobility or condition.
In 2018, EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare (EllisDon) was awarded the contract to build, design, finance and maintain West Park’s new hospital and fulfill its community benefits commitment to provide training and employment opportunities, and other local benefits.
At EllisDon we take great pride in the communities in which we live, build, and work. We recognize that a major hospital development should not only transform the lives of its patients, but the lives of the people in the communities in which it serves.
We are committed to working with communities, residents, businesses and industries within the surrounding neighbourhoods of the West Park Healthcare Centre to identify and develop tangible social and economic benefits from the project.
The Community Benefits and Apprenticeship Plan supports three separate streams:

Training and Workforce Development
Social Enterprise and Social Procurement
As part of the Community Benefits and Apprenticeship plan we are committing to an aspirational target of 10% of all trade and craft working hours, on a trade-by-trade basis, to be performed by qualified apprentices or journeypersons from historically disadvantaged communities or equity seeking working groups.
